I got a little bit creative last Christmas for presents for Mum (and for Mandy - check in later for her present) and decided to make some cushions to go on her new lounge. As with a lot of my ideas lately, I found both cushion ideas on Pinterest. The circle design is actually called a twirly dresden plate) and I was able to download the pattern free. Talk about fiddly - there was some little pieces in the plate - and then I had to get it to sit nice & flat so it could be appliqued onto the cushion cover. The second one was much easier to work out - just figured it all out from the photo, put the block together and once again, applique it on with a little peeper border....easy!
Mum's other present was a little sewing tote that I made from a pattern that I had had laying around for a few years. Prior to Christmas, Mum had a little issue with a sewing needle so I thought something to safely carry around her bits and bobs would be handy little present.
