More decorations for the Christmas tree for my home made Christmas theme this year - some 2D fabric baubles.
To make the baubles:
Cut 2 x 5cm circles from the same fabric, 1 x 4cm circle of wadding and some gold chord (about 12cm long).
Lay one piece of fabric right side down, lay the piece of wadding on the fabric - make sure it's centred. Fold the chord in half and place the cut ends on the edge of the wadding (around 5mm onto the wadding). Place the other piece of fabric right side up on the wadding. Pin to hold all layers and the chord in place.
Sew the three layers together using free motion quilting (I did a wonky spiral), ensuring you sew over the chord ends. Only sew over the fabric where the wadding is - you'll leave a 5mm gap with a rough, unsewn edge which will fray a little over time.
