Indigenous inspired wall-hanging by Mandy

I had been collecting Australian Aboriginal fabrics for many years without knowing what I would do with them. I decided on a wall hanging. I call this design "Meetings". I was inspired by the use of circles in Indigenous art which often represent a meeting place, and the use of parallel lines which represent travel of people. The quilting shadows the travel lines, to further enhance the idea of travelling between meeting spaces. I hope people don't see this as a misappropriation of Indigenous culture. That is not my intent. I did this as a tribute to Indigenous culture and I'd like to think this represents a meeting of non-Indigenous and Indigenous Australians.
